Let's help Heart & Stroke continue leading advances in heart and brain health
The Heart&Stroke foundation has been leading research in heart and brain health for over 60 years. From the prevention of disease to the development of life-saving interventions to the transformation of rehabilitation, their research is truly life changing. Their strategy is founded on a commitment to excellence. They invest donors’ dollars in science evaluated by competitive peer reviews.
Their story
Heart&Stroke's vision is a life uninterrupted by heart disease, and they've been making real progress.
The death rate from heart disease and stroke has declined more than 75% over the past six decades.
This is what has been driving a visionary group of Canadian researchers and physicians since 1952. Today, they pilot the research behind life-saving heart transplants and cutting death rates by 50% with a revolutionary stroke treatment.
Why it's urgent
Heart disease, stroke and related conditions take one life every five minutes in Canada. About 3.5 million more people are living with the devastating effects of these diseases. And 9 in 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor, such as high blood pressure, obesity, tobacco use, lack of physical activity and diabetes.
The threat of heart disease and stroke is amplified by an aging population, inactive sedentary lifestyles, poor diets and other factors.
The impact that this charity is making is close to our hearts, and that's why we want to share Baraka with them!
