Gunnbjörn Ulfsson (c. 10th century), also Gunnbjörn Ulf-Krakuson, was a Norwegian settler in Iceland. He was reportedly the first European to sight Greenland. A number of modern place names in Greenland commemorates Gunnbjörn, most notably Gunnbjørn Fjeld.

It just took my breath away…

It’s the most beautiful place… Upon arrival, I experienced the peaceful, deafening silence of utter isolation and remote wilderness in Greenland. The extended expedition up the summit of Mount Gunnbjørn Fjeld was an unforgettable experience.
